No Bake Desserts For Christmas and Other Holidays

No-bake holiday recipes

Christmas is a great time for family activities and this includes getting into the kitchen with the kids! Christmas foods mean lots of colorful treats that your kids will love to decorate (and eat!). Cooking and baking is one activity you must do with your kids once in a while because not only will it help your bond, but you will also be able to teach your kids some skills and critical thinking that will be beneficial for them in the long run! Now, if you want to make some Christmas treats but you also don’t want to turn any appliances on (due to, well… kids), then do not worry because there are also several no-bake holiday recipes you can do! An example is a Rocky road which is an instant favorite for the little ones since its mixed ingredients give festive flavors. Marshmallows are also a nice way to get creative. Maybe you can stack them up and make your own marshmallow snowmen! You can then use pretzel sticks for the arms and legs and maybe a chocolate chip for the eyes and buttons.

No-bake cheesecake

If you do not have any oven at home, then do not worry because you can still have your fair share of no-bake cheesecakes that are just as delicious as the baked ones! A good thing about this is you can freely let your kids help you make these cookies without worrying over the fact that they may burn or hurt themselves by getting near the oven. Another thing is that no-bake cheesecakes require fewer ingredients and lesser time to prepare and cook! Here is how you can make a classic no-bake cheesecake for the holidays:

Ingredients

Graham crackers
11 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons sugar
2 8-ounce packages cream cheese, room temperature
1 1/4 cups sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions

Put the graham crackers in a large resealable plastic bag then crush them with a rolling pin until very fine crumbs are form. Pour the crumbs into a medium bowl and stir in sugar. Add butter and stir until well combined. Press the crumb mixture into a pan and spread it 1 1/2 to 2 inches up the side pressed flat. Chill it in the freezer for at least 10 minutes. For the filling, beat the cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth. Include the condensed milk a little at a time, scraping the sides of the bowl, as necessary. Beat in the lemon juice and vanilla. Then, pour the filling into the crust and smoothen it. Cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until firm, 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Take it out and serve.
