What can you do with a pineapple?
If you need something refreshing that will give you a good amount of flavor, then you may want to slice some pineapples for yourself. This tropical fruit is the perfect balance of sweetness and sourness. It is a popular fruit because aside from its distinct flavor, pineapples are also paced with several nutrients and antioxidants which have been linked to numerous health benefits including digestion, boosting of the immune system, aiding in speeding up recovery from surgery, boosting clearer skin, fighting off inflammation and several diseases, and more. Eating a few slices or chunks of fresh pineapples a day can defend your body from harmful free radicals.
But if you want to take your eating experience with pineapples up a notch, then you are in for a treat because there is a variety of dishes you can make even with just a slice of pineapple! A simple way is to make a tasty tropical fruit salad along with some slices of apple, pear, and more. You can also grill your pineapple slices to bring out all its natural sugars. You can also whip up a pineapple pie or cupcakes, make a puree, and a refreshing tropical smoothie! Also, let’s not forget that it is essential to a Hawaiian pizza. You can also add some pineapple chunks to your kebabs and green salads. And if you want to preserve some pineapple in your pantry, you can easily make it into a jam.
Can I use fresh pineapple instead of canned?
When a recipe requires for pineapple, your first instinct might be to look at the canned food aisle. And it is understandable since it is so easy to just pick out a readily chopped bunch of pineapples. Although it is more convenient, fresh pineapples are still more beneficial and give a distinct flavor to your dishes. In terms of baking, you may want to use fresh pineapple instead which is lighter in flavor than those that are canned.
