What Food Do You Eat On Easter?
So what kind of food do you eat on Easter? Generally, you can eat anything you want on Easter Sunday. Except when you’re a Christian, you would know that meat is not allowed during Fridays so you will have to opt for bread, pastries, and fish.
With that said, here are the food staples that you will always see in anyone’s Easter dining table:
Easter Eggs
One must not forget the ever famous Easter eggs. It is definitely one of the few indicators that Easter is being celebrated! From a Christian perspective, Easter eggs represent Jesus’ resurrection which gave this food a symbol of “new life”. Easter eggs can either be a decorative piece or an activity that can add life to the celebration (I’m talking about Easter egg hunt!).
Bread and fish
As I have said before, one of the Easter food traditions is that Christians, especially Catholics, do not eat meat on ‘Good Friday’, and the religious reason behind this is that because Jesus sacrificed his flesh on Good Friday, we refrain from eating flesh meat in his honor. Also, if you trace back to the Pagan era, bread symbolizes fertility and welcomes good luck for the rest of the year ahead. It’s also a good thing that you can do tons of recipes with just a plain bread!
Lamb or ham
The lamb is another significant symbol and one you will definitely see in the dining table especially during Easter. The lamb became an Easter staple for the reason that Jesus is often referred to as the “Lamb of God.” And if you want a cheaper alternative, you can always opt for ham!
Chocolate Easter Bunny
Chocolate Easter bunnies come in pair with the colorful dyed Easter eggs for the fact that it adds decoration to your place and it brings fun to your celebration especially if your guests include children! The Easter Bunny is a folkloric figure and symbol of Easter which is seen as a rabbit bringing Easter eggs.

There really is no limit on how you can get creative with the Easter food staples I mentioned.
