Healthy And Easy Apple Recipes

What can I do with lots of apples?

We are all familiar with the saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”, right? That saying is very fitting when it comes to apples because this fruit is packed with sources of different vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, fiber, and more. Aside from that, it is also claimed that apples can help maintain or even promote weight loss. Apples also have been linked to lower the risk of heart disease and reduce the chances of getting diabetes, obesity, and other risky conditions.

With all that said, it is a good thing that apples are fairly easy to find and pretty much affordable as well. You can go to any grocery store and you will see a section full of apples. And if you may have overindulged in a lot of apples than expected (let’s say you had a good time apple picking), there’s a high chance that some of the apples you have will go bad even before you get a chance to eat them. But do not worry because there are a lot of ways on how you can prepare and preserve your apples such as:

  • Drying – dried apples, just like any dried fruits, are a great form of a healthy snack. You can dry your apples using the oven, a dehydrator, or a wood stove.
  • Pureeing – an apple puree can be used as the main ingredient for several baked goodies such as apple pies.
  • Juicing – any homemade juice is definitely way better than any store-bought powdered juice. And this applies to apples. Natural apple juice tastes far sweeter with an extra hint of sourness.
  •  Baking – there are quite a number of baked apple goodies that are very tasty and filling to the tummy. And what’s more, most of them are very easy to make!
  • Make into a jam
  • Toss them into a fresh garden salad or fruit salad
  • Make into an applesauce
  • Incorporate into a summer drink such as sangria

What foods are made from apples?

Apples can practically be the main star of cakes, pies, and different desserts. But it is not only limited to desserts and baked goodies. You can also toss some apple into your salad, soups, and skillet dishes. With that said, here are some of the most common foods that are made from apples:

  • Apple pie
  • Caramel apples
